Senior Analyst

About the role:

The Senior Analyst plays a key role in supporting health service improvement and capability, with a particular focus on revenue optimisation analysis and implementation. As part of a small, specialised team, the role contributes to the analytical and workflow components of improvement and capability initiatives. The team undertakes deep dives into health service financial and activity data to inform targeted strategies, including revenue optimisation. The role is also responsible for ensuring that financial improvement targets agreed with government are accurately reported and acquitted.

About you:

• A Health Information professional with demonstrated experience in health service funding models, reporting requirements, and NWAU optimisation initiatives. You are capable of translating complex data into actionable strategies that support health service performance and capability.
• An expert in Victoria's activity reporting datasets, including but not limited to the Victorian Admitted Episodes Dataset (VAED), Victorian Emergency Minimum Dataset (VEMD), Victorian Integrated Non-Admitted Health Dataset (VINAH), Elective Surgery Information System (ESIS) and Agency Information Management System (AIMS).
• A persuasive and influential communicator, skilled in engaging diverse stakeholders, managing risks and driving initiatives that deliver measurable outcomes.
• Committed to developing others and building capability to support impactful health service improvement and revenue optimisation

Specialist expertise/Qualificactions

• A bachelor's degree or higher in Health Information Management, Finance, Economics, Health Administration, Data Science, or a related field
• A high degree of understanding and knowledge of the Victorian budget processes, health system funding, health system reporting, relevant departmental systems and environments is essential.
• Deep understanding of health service funding frameworks and NWAU optimisation.
• Expert level experience in Victoria's activity reporting datasets, including but not limited to VAED, VEMD, VINAH, ESIS and AIMS.
