With the Italian tradition of community, mutual help, Christian faith and family, Scalabrini Village offers the provision of excellent care to the frail aged and people living with dementia delivered with a profound sense of justice and a respect for all cultures. With seven aged care villages across NSW, six within the Sydney Metro area and the seventh located in regional NSW.

We are seeking an experienced Carer with a Certificate III in Aged Care to undertake the role of Care Services Employee at our Griffith Village. The role entails providing care to residents as a member of the care team under the supervision of the Registered Nurse including assisting with assessment, assisting with personal grooming and hygiene, dining support, planning, implementation and evaluation of care and empowering our residents to have choices, providing them with person-centred care.

This is an expression of interest for both part time and casual opportunities. 

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent
  • Unit of competency HLTHPS006
  • Unit of competency HLTAP301

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in an aged care or community health setting and an understanding of issues relating to dementia care
  • Ability to speak Italian or other languages
  • Demonstrated  knowledge of the aged care industry and person-centred care
  • Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships
  • Confidence working in a flexible team environment
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Intermediate computer literacy
