About the Centre/Service

Lady Forster Kindergarten is a community-managed, not for profit 49-place kindergarten located on the foreshore of Elwood Beach offering 3 & 4 year old Kindergarten Programs (Sessional and Extended Hours), Occasional Care and Holiday Programs. We are a busy service providing nature-based programs including an established beach curriculum. We are rated as 'exceeding' across all seven quality areas of the National Quality Standards.

Description

We are seeking casual educators living local to Elwood, to cover staff planned and unplanned leave, with the possibility of permanent work in the future. This role would suit Diploma-qualified educators but might also suit an ECT looking for early childhood experience in a high-quality kindergarten service. We would love to hear from you if you:

  • are an enthusiastic educator with a passion for nature and sustainability,
  • have availability and flexibility to cover shifts within our operating hours
  • have a Diploma qualification, at minimum, or higher
  • are seeking casual work/temporary work
  • ideally located locally to Elwood

We expect to have casual working hours available for the right candidate(s) and ideally will require flexibility to work shifts across our operating hours of Mon-Fri, 7.30 am to 6.00 pm, and through the upcoming term holiday break (22 September to 3 October). As relief/emergency cover will be involved, the casual work may best suit candidates located near to our Elwood site.

Qualifications

  • Cert III, Diploma or ECT qualification
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Current Federal Police Check
  • Child Protection/Mandatory Reporting Module certificate
  • Current First Aid Certificate; Asthma, Anaphylaxis, CPR training
  • Sound knowledge of education frameworks
