About This Opportunity

This full-time night-shift position is ideal for a qualified Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanic looking to take the next step with a respected Australian transport operator. Working from our Darra workshop, you will diagnose, repair, and service heavy commercial vehicles and refrigeration transport equipment, ensuring fleet reliability, safety and performance. This role suits a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced maintenance environment and takes pride in high-quality workmanship and teamwork.

Position Requirements
  • Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Experience working in Road Transport highly regarded
  • Knowledge of (Kenworth & Isuzu Trucks, and Cummins Power Plants), (BPW, Meritor and Hendrickson Suspension Systems), Eaton Driveline Components, (ThermoKing & Carrier Fridge Units), and truck air conditioner repairs & servicing.
  • Manual Driver's Licence (HR/HC/MC highly regarded)
  • Forklift Licence (LF) highly regarded
  • Strong attention to detail and safety-first mindset
  • Physical fitness and ability to handle manual tasks
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Maintain and repair suspension, steering, and braking systems
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and HVAC system repairs
  • Use diagnostic instruments and workshop equipment
  • Mentor apprentices and participate in training sessions
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, CoR, and internal policies
  • Maintain accurate documentation and a clean workshop environment
