ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Microsoft Azure Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure solutions using Microsoft Azure. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our cloud strategy, ensuring high availability, security, and performance of cloud-hosted services and applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and deploy Azure infrastructure solutions in line with business and technical requirements.
  • Manage and optimise Azure resources (e.g., virtual machines, storage, networking, identity).
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using ARM templates, Bicep, and/or Terraform.
  • Monitor environments for performance, security, and cost; implement optimisation actions.
  • Partner with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to support CI/CD and cloud‑native delivery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure infrastructure and platform services.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for architectures, configurations, and procedures.
  • Keep current with Azure updates, patterns, and best practices; recommend improvements.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong understanding of Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
  • Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools.
  • Experience with Azure Active Directory, RBAC, and identity management.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (VNETs, NSGs, VPNs, ExpressRoute).
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights).
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes on Azure AKS) is a plus.
  • Telecommunications experience is highly desirable but not required.

Certifications
Required

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)

Preferred:

  • Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)
  • Microsoft Certified: Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
  • HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate (if using Terraform)

Skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Experience in hybrid cloud environments or multi-cloud strategies.
  • Exposure to compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cost management and FinOps principles.
