About the role

GWD Electrical Engineering Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced CEC/SAA Accredited Solar Electrician to join our team in Melbourne, VIC. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar power systems, ensuring our clients receive top-quality service and support.

What you'll be doing

  1. Conducting site assessments and system designs for residential and commercial solar power installations
  2. Installing, testing, and commissioning solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including panels, inverters, and other electrical components
  3. Performing maintenance and repair work on existing solar power systems, troubleshooting issues, and providing solutions
  4. Ensuring all work complies with relevant Australian standards, regulations, and safety guidelines
  5. Providing excellent customer service and technical support to our clients
  6. Collaborating with the wider team to continuously improve our solar energy solutions

What we're looking for

  1. Completion of an electrical apprenticeship and hold a valid Electrician's Licence
  2. Certification as a CEC (Clean Energy Council) Accredited Solar Installer and SAA (Standards Australia) Accredited Solar Assessor
  3. Proven experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of solar power systems, preferably in the residential and commercial sectors
  4. Strong understanding of electrical theory, solar technology, and energy-efficient practices
  5. Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail
  6. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the team and clients
  7. A valid driver's licence and the ability to travel to client sites as needed
