The Carpenter uses power tools and machinery to erect metal structures. Main responsibilities and duties include:

· Studying drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures

· Ordering and selecting materials, and preparing layouts

· Accurately follow details of construction requirements from design drawings and oral instruction

· Assist with site measure-ups

· Precisely measure and prepare site using heavy machinery and hand tools to dig and level building pads

· Use hand and power tools (grinding, drilling, screwing, nailing, welding, etc) to cut and assemble materials, erect, sheet/roof and modify building materials

· Operate elevated work platforms (EWP's) to lift and assemble building materials

· Undertake concrete work for footings and slabs

· Install tank as per instructions

· Clean up job sites

· General labouring duties

· Detect faulty operation of equipment and/or defective materials or products and notify supervisors

· Other duties as required

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications:

· 2 years previous experience in a similar role/industry

· Certificate III in Carpentry

· Valid C Class drivers licence, LR or HR class licence advantageous

· Valid High Risk Licence – LF, WP

· Construction Industry Induction card

· Flexible and cooperative team attitude

· Ability to work in a team and independently

· Organised and able to meet deadlines

· Patience and accuracy

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Subcontract

Pay: $85,500.00 – $105,577.81 per year
