About the Role:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, and providing strategic financial advice.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and examine financial statements, reports, and records for accuracy and compliance
  • Manage BAS, IAS, and GST lodgements
  • Prepare and lodge income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies, and trusts
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Provide business advisory services to clients
  • Reconcile accounts and perform month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Liaise with ATO and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients
  • Support junior staff and ensure best practice in accounting standards
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the branch to ensure smooth workflow and client service
  • Train, mentor, and supervise new and junior staff, fostering professional development
  • Coordinate staff schedules and workload allocation to meet deadlines and optimize efficiency

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (mandatory)
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience as a professional accountant
  • Strong knowledge of Australian taxation laws and accounting principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, and/or QuickBooks
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
