At Castlegate James, we are proud to support Australian and New Zealand farmers and nutritionists with high-performance, specialty co-product stockfeeds. Our extensive range of products – including grains, protein meals, moist feeds, sugar/energy blends, pellets, and co-products sourced from the food and beverage industries – are designed to help achieve optimum livestock production across dairy, beef, sheep, and goat operations.

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead our Swanbank manufacturing facility. Reporting to the GM Operations, this key leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable operations while maintaining the highest standards of product quality, environmental performance, and customer satisfaction.

Your Key Responsibilities will include;

  • Oversee all site operations to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintain strict adherence to Workplace Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, and Environmental Management standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the site team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Implement and maintain best-practice hygiene, maintenance, and operational procedures.
  • Manage production scheduling and planning to optimise plant capability and meet customer demand.
  • Oversee raw material supply, inventory control, and traceability systems.
  • Monitor and report on production performance, providing daily, weekly, and monthly updates.
  • Contribute to annual budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure planning in line with group policy.
  • Drive change management initiatives to improve processes and site culture.

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • 5+ years' experience in animal feed manufacturing, agricultural production, or intensive livestock operations.
  • Proven experience operating agricultural and/or manufacturing machinery.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and leadership skills.
  • A collaborative management style with a focus on team development and performance.
  • Demonstrated experience leading change in processes and culture.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft D365 is desirable.
