Chandler Macleod is currently seeking a qualified welder and boilermaker with experience in metal fabrication, structural welding, or boiler maintenance to join the team at Baiada's Country Road Hatchery in Tamworth.

  • $45.11 per hour + weekend penalties & allowances
  • Monday to Friday,8 hour shifts, rotatingbetween 2:30 AM - 9 AM
  • Opportunity for permanency following successful probation

About the role

As a Maintenance Employee, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing plant machinery to support smooth, safe, and efficient operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing repairs and preventative maintenance on plant equipment and machinery
  • Ensuring all tasks are completed safely and in accordance with Baiada's standards and systems
  • Working closely with the Maintenance Manager, and other supervisors and leading hands
  • Carrying out maintenance work in line with Baiada's operational and compliance requirements

About You

We are seeking a proactive, trade-qualified professional with a hands-on approach and strong teamwork ethic. To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A relevant trade qualification (e.g. Fitter and Turner, Boilermaker, Welder) along with experience working in a maintenance team within a manufacturing environment, preferably within the intensive food processing industry
  • Strong decision-making skills, particularly under pressure
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • A desire for long-term career development
  • Full Australian working rights (citizenship or permanent residency)

You'll also bring a mechanical mindset, a commitment to safety, and the flexibility to work across rotating shifts—including weekends and public holidays.
