THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Operational role in Council's road maintenance team.
  • The position provides a career development opportunity that will enable a candidate to successfully achieve a Certificate III in Civil Construction.
  • A great opportunity to earn while you learn while being mentored in a friendly and professional team
  • This role will provide you with experience in a broad range of work that will set you up for a career in road maintenance and construction

To be successful in this role you will bring a positive attitude and an ability to get the job done. Although previous road maintenance experience is not critical you will bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

The Apprentice Operator – Transport Operations Is Responsible For

  • Assisting in the provision od competent and efficient civil construction practices whilst completing studies in Certificate III in Civil Construction.
  • Following and interpret instructions as directed by the supervisor.
  • Carry out daily routine checks, monitoring and maintenance activities.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED

  • P1, P2 or C Class Drivers Licence (Manual Licence Required)
  • Higher School Certificate or Record of School Achievement
  • Immunisations (or willingness to undergo) for Tetanus, Hepatis A & B
  • Ability and Willingness to obtain a Certificate III in Civil Construction
  • Ability to work effectively with others.

Salary range: Grade T3 – T5 -
$ $947.70 for a 38-hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.

Shortlisted applicants will be required to undertake a Pre-employment Medical Screening including Alcohol & Other Drugs Testing.
