About the Role

As a Credit Analyst you will play a vital role in the client(s) lending experience by being responsible for evaluating creditworthiness and assessing risk/borrowing capacity for potential residential. You will analyse financial data, review credit reports, and perform comprehensive risk assessments to make informed decisions about extending credit. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, such as loan officers, underwriters, and clients, to gather and analyse relevant information to support credit decision-making. You will also provide recommendations and ensure compliance with regulations.

What you will do

  • Evaluate creditworthiness of loan applications by analysing financial statements, credit reports, tax returns, and other relevant documents.
  • Prepare and/or oversee credit submissions for new home loan and commercial loan applications, and coordination of deal execution through to final approval and eventual funding.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to borrowers and respond to inquiries related to loan status and documentation.
  • Communicate with loan officers, assessors/underwriters, and other stakeholders including solicitors, conveyancers etc. to meet established timelines.
  • Ensure both residential loan applications are complete and accurate, including loan application forms, property valuation reports, and other required documents.
  • Be responsible for the home loan end-to-end process from data entry right through to settlement.
  • Communicate with applicants/borrowers to request additional information or clarification on loan applications as needed.
  • Follow up on outstanding conditions and address and complete any loan conditions in a timely manner to ensure applications can be converted to final approval.
  • Maintain and update loan files and databases to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Stay current with industry regulations, company policies, and lending guidelines.

What you will have

  • Minimum of 2 + years of experience as a Credit Analyst or similar role in the commercial and residential lending industry.
  • Previous experience in a mortgage broker's office is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience dealing with applications involving complex financials and tax returns.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience dealing with applications involving complex trust structures Tertiary Education in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business.
  • Excellent communication skills as well as strong analytical skills.
  • Precious experience as an assessor or home loan credit analyst for lenders such as Latrobe or Pepper Money.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing loan applications and supporting documents.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple loan applications simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with borrowers, credit assessors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
