Position Overview
This primary purpose of this position is to assist and coordinate offshore freight operations, to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods and materials to the companies' operations in PNG.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the shipping of goods by air, sea, and land while ensuring compliance with all logistical protocols and safety regulations.
  • Prepare and process all required import/export documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs declarations to facilitate efficient customs clearance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, and customs officials, providing timely updates and resolving any shipment-related issues.
  • Monitor and track shipments throughout the logistics process, ensuring compliance with scheduled timelines and quality standards, report performance metrics to management.
  • Stay updated on international trade regulations, customs laws, and compliance requirements, adjusting logistics strategies accordingly.
  • Address and resolve any logistical challenges or delays, utilizing creative problem-solving skills to ensure minimal disruption to operations.

Qualification, Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role wither within a shipping, freight forwarding, industrial / Mining or heavy industrial environment
  • Experience of Pronto/SAP or similar
  • Demonstrated knowledge of end-to-end shipping and supply chain.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making capability.
  • Ability to communicate clearly to and influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in Microsoft suite office tools
  • Ability to manage a diverse range of logistical challenges
  • Qualifications in Freight forwarding, Consolidation and business processes highly desirable
