Are you a seasoned leader in mechanical maintenance ready to take the next step in your career? We are looking for a Mechanical Superintendent to bring technical expertise and people leadership to our Port Botany Terminal. This role is integral to ensuring the efficiency and safety of our maintenance operations, while working in partnership with a collaborative and dynamic team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and coach mechanical trades and support teams to achieve operational excellence.
  • Ensure heavy equipment complies with OHS&E statutory requirements.
  • Drive initiatives to improve equipment safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with operations to enhance service delivery and meet customer satisfaction targets.
  • Oversee maintenance budgets, procurement, and resource management.
  • Analyse equipment performance and implement solutions to reduce downtime.
  • Foster strong industrial relations and employee engagement.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance planning or workshop management in heavy industry.
  • Trade qualification or engineering background in mechanical or electrical disciplines.
  • Proven leadership in managing a technical workforce and complex workshop operations.
  • Experience with maintenance management systems and budget oversight.
  • Strong problem-solving and planning capabilities with a safety-first mindset.
  • Knowledge of OHS legislation, equipment codes, and compliance standard.
