About the role
We are seeking an experienced people leader to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for fostering a one team culture that strives to deliver business outcomes related to health, safety and environmental responsibilities, operational excellence, community engagement, continuous improvement and exceptional service delivery for our customers.
Port Waratah operates continuously to meet its customers' service delivery needs. Operations Supervisors work two types of rosters:
7-day continuous: 2 days on, 2 nights on, 4 days off, rotating 12.5-hour shifts.
Daywork: 4 days a week, 10.5-hour shifts (Monday – Thursday).
The current vacancy is for a position on the 7-day continuous roster.
Desired Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone with:
Proven leadership experience in heavy industry, with a strong track record of engaging teams and driving results.
Excellent communication skills, able to clearly convey information and foster collaboration.
A commitment to continuous improvement, with demonstrated success in enhancing health, safety, wellbeing, environmental outcomes, and operational processes.
Good problem-solving abilities, with the flexibility to adapt and work with stakeholders through unexpected changes.
Sound judgement and decision-making skills, capable of making timely, risk-based decisions.
Knowledge of emergency management and incident control within an industrial setting.
