About the role

Engineering firm is seeking trade-qualified Mechanical Supervisors to oversee structural project works in the South Burnett area.

The role involves a diverse range of mechanical installations and upgrades, including:

  • Erection of structural steel
  • Piping works
  • Fixed and mobile plant upgrades

As the Mechanical Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring successful project delivery by overseeing the mechanical scope and supervising the mechanical team. This role is suited to supervisors who are not only experienced in leading teams but are also prepared to work hands-on when required.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supervising and coordinating the mechanical team to ensure tasks meet the highest standards and timelines
  • Reviewing and interpreting engineering plans and specifications to ensure compliance
  • Identifying and resolving issues arising during the mechanical work, collaborating with the wider project team
  • Planning and monitoring the use of equipment and materials such as EWPs and cranage
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to foster a positive, productive team environment
  • Ensuring adherence to all relevant safety protocols and regulations
  • Maintaining detailed records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle

What we're looking for

  • A recognised trade qualification
  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in a supervisor or foreperson role
  • Supervisor training certification (S1, S2, S3 or equivalent)
  • Tickets for rigging, EWP, and working at heights are advantageous
  • Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead and motivate a team
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities focused on quality outcomes
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask
