About the role

The Senior Land Services Officer, Regional Pest Animal Coordinator delivers vital services that support farmers and communities in managing healthy, productive landscapes.

In this dynamic role, you'll:

  • Undertake project support and coordination of the pest levy and feral pig projects within the Murray LLS business unit, including the development and delivery of pest animal projects.
  • Engage with all business units within Murray LLS and external stakeholders and to drive innovation and best practice.
  • Chair the MLLS Regional Strategic Pest Animal Management Committee, supporting 3 Wild Dog groups in Upper Murray, representing MLLS on the NSW LLS pest animal SWAG and State Feral Pig Program and active participation of the Western Riverina Pest Program steering and operational committees.
  • Coordinate emergency planning, preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives
  • Guide and support small project teams with leadership and direction
  • Monitor, evaluate, and improve programs, contributing to long-term strategic planning

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience
  • Current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel
  • Ability to undertake a police check and medical clearance

About You

To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will

  • A degree or equivalent experience in agriculture, natural resource management, biosecurity or environmental sciences
  • Proven ability to deliver complex projects and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong skills in communication, analysis, and problem-solving
  • A passion for pest animal management and best practice
  • Collect and collate data, analyse information and provide accurate and appropriately balanced advice, reports and recommendations on pest animal projects
  • Develop major partnerships and support collaboration to address regional pest management activities
  • Fulfil identified emergency management roles in local and State level operations as directed by appropriate delegated managers.
