The Opportunity
As the Manager Distribution Operations, you will lead the day to day operations of our multiple distribution centres across Brisbane. You'll ensure our warehouse and inventory operations run safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulations—while driving continuous improvement and delivering exceptional service to internal stakeholders.

Further to this, you will;

  • Lead and optimise day-to-day operations across multiple distribution centres
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing distribution operations team
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant material handling and storage practices
  • Oversee accurate and timely stock movements to meet operational and customer service standards
  • Manage labour, equipment, and service-level performance
  • Manage operational budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Partner with internal teams and external providers to resolve operational issues
  • Support the rollout of new systems, processes, and training initiatives

The People You'll Join
Powerlink is undergoing significant transformation in the way we deliver services to Queenslanders. With exponential growth already underway, and a significant pipeline of infrastructure projects on the horizon, our Supply Chain Services teams have never been more crucial in equipping our people with the resources to deliver to our strategy.

Our Warehouse & Logistics team has recently undergone an expansion, resulting in the creation of several new roles to support our increasing inventory to support upcoming infrastructure projects. As the Manager Distribution Operations, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing the effective management of our Distribution Centres and driving operational excellence.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree level qualification or a lesser qualification coupled with extensive experience in distribution operations

You will be an experienced distribution centre manager with a strong background in warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics. Your leadership skills will shine in managing multiple sites, where you've successfully developed and motivated high-performing teams. You'll have a solid understanding of SAP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and logistics technologies and be confident in driving process improvements. Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance frameworks, including HVNL, is critical.

Your ability to solve problems, manage stakeholders, and communicate effectively will be key to your success. You'll also have experience leading change, particularly in rolling out new systems and processes, and working across teams to embed improvements. Ideally, you'll also bring experience in warehousing or distribution operations within a heavy asset-based industry.
