At the City of Armadale, we're looking for a Risk and Strategy Advisor who will shape how we plan, deliver and build resilience across our organisation.

This is not a back-office compliance role. It's a chance to be at the centre of strategy, governance and risk culture helping leaders make confident decisions, embedding business continuity, and ensuring our plans align with the aspirations of our growing community.

What you'll be doing

•    Leading the delivery and review of our Risk Management Framework in line with legislation and best practice.

•    Advising leaders on risk strategies, mitigation and business continuity planning.

•    Maintaining and reporting on strategic and operational risk registers.

•    Supporting Integrated Planning and Reporting (IPR), including Strategic Community Plan, Corporate Business Plan and performance frameworks.

•    Coordinating reporting and analysis from benchmarking to CEO KPI dashboards to enable evidence-based decisions.

•    Facilitating workshops and building capability across the organisation to embed a proactive, risk-aware culture.

•    Engaging with the Audit and Risk Committee and external stakeholders to strengthen organisational resilience.

What you'll bring

•    Tertiary qualifications (or progress toward) in business, commerce, risk management or related field.

•    Demonstrated experience in risk management, business continuity, and integrated planning/reporting.

•    Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and frameworks.

•    High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills — with the ability to translate complex risk concepts into practical advice.

•    Proven capability in preparing reports, facilitating workshops and building organisational capability.
