Meriton Suites is currently seeking a Electrician to support our celebrated Brisbane hotels.

About the Role

The Area Electrician is responsible for the safe and effective maintenance, repair, and installation of all electrical systems and equipment across multiple Meriton Suites properties. This role ensures all electrical operations are carried out in line with legislative compliance, safety standards, and operational efficiency, supporting hotel management and maintenance teams to deliver a high-quality guest experience. The position requires travel between properties and the ability to manage a dynamic workload.

Your key responsibilities

  • Electrical Maintenance & Repairs: Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical systems including lighting, power circuits, switchboards, and equipment;
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Australian electrical standards, WHS regulations, and Meriton Suites safety protocols;
  • Project Support: Assist in the planning and execution of refurbishment and upgrade works across hotel sites, including coordinating with contractors and providing technical input;
  • Asset Management: Maintain and update records of electrical assets, inspections, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation for each site.
  • Team & Stakeholder Support: Collaborate with on-site Hotel Managers, Area Maintenance Managers, and Head Office representatives to address electrical needs efficiently;
  • Emergency Response: Attend to urgent electrical issues to minimise disruption to operations and guests;
  • Energy Efficiency: Identify energy-saving initiatives and recommend improvements for more efficient electrical systems across properties.
  • Operational Support: Troubleshoot and resolve issues such as lighting faults, RCD tripping, and power outages. Servicing a range of essential and operational electrical assets.

To be successful in this role you will have

  • Previous experience in a similar role (hotels desirable)
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • The ability to work unsupervised.
  • Full availability to work a 7-day rotating roster.
  • Professional approach in dealing with guests and other staff members whilst carrying out your daily tasks.
  • Low Voltage Rescue Certificate
  • Working at Heights Certificate
  • First Aid & CPR Certification
  • Electrical Trade Qualification
