We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team, working with clients who are living with challenging mental health needs. About the role:
- To support the participants in home and out in the community.
- To know and understand the care and support of the participant
- To undertake the tasks detailed in the participants' Care Plan using a person-centered approach and in the least intrusive way
- To assists in household duties such as cleaning, laundry, cooking.
- To provide personal care and support to participants with a wide range of needs, illnesses and disabilities
- To use manual handling equipment safely and correctly
- To take responsibility for the safe handling of property and equipment belonging to the participants
- To maintain good communication and develop effective working relationships with participants
Job Details:
- Qualification Requirement: Cert 3 in Disability / Individual Support
- Certificate 3 qualification may be obtained within 3 months of commencement
- Minimum 2 years' experience supporting clients with mental health conditions (e.g., anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, PTSD)
- Medication management
- Ability to provide medication administration under supervision is required
- Skills : Communication, Proactive, Leadership
- Pay: Competitive rates based on SCHADS
- Expected Hours: 24:7 roster including overnight support.
- Minimum availability 3 shifts per week (20 hours minimum)
- Required Licenses/Certifications: Full Driving Licence, Working with Children Check, NDIS Workers Screening, Police Check, First Aid and CPR
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance for community transport duties
- Work Authorization: Australia (Required)
