About Oral Health Victoria:

About the role:
The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne has a rare opportunity for a Dental Assistant to join us to work in our Surgery and Oral Medicine Department.
This is a great opportunity to gain skills in Surgery and Oral Medicine Care and to work and learn from other highly experienced Dental Assistants and Coaches, with the support of our amazing Team Leader in Surgery and Oral Medicine.
You will get to work within a diverse organisation, and we recognise that our Dental Assistants are critical to the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and effective clinical care.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Clinical Chair-side assisting with a Dentist or Specialist on the ward.
- Providing oral health education and promotion to our patients.
- Preparing, maintaining, and managing the clinical environment, including equipment, materials, and instruments, in line with the treatment plan, to enhance efficient patient care.
About you:
- 12+ months of experience working chair-side assisting.
- Experience as a Dental Assistant (Surgery and Theatre preferred),
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting or Certificate in Dental Nursing (Please note: Overseas trained dentists must have a qualification in Dental Assisting from an Australian RTO).
- Well-developed communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
