The Role

An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Glazier Rope Access Technician in the Sydney region. This role will primarily becarrying out all aspects of high-rise glass replacement / installation on both new and existing buildings. The role sits within Trades & Services, and reports to our Projects Manager.

What you will do

The main tasks include:

  • Determining type and dimensions of glass required
  • Examining glass and marking defective areas
  • Hacking out and removing defective curtain wall glass onhigh rise buildings
  • Cleaning and preparing window frames for glass installation
  • Polishing and removal of scratches / etching from glass
  • Installing high rise curtain wall glass Moving glass from stillages to A frames and transportingglass between levels on construction sites
  • Setting up and use of specialised rope access equipmentand systems for personnel and lifting / lowering of glass panels on the exterior of buildings
  • Using ACT Safe power ascenders, vacuum glass lifters,mini floor cranes and other specialized equipment for high rise glazing
  • Replacement and repairs to stays, handles and othermechanical parts on high rise windows

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 3+ years' work experience with glazing
  • Must have Level 3 IRATA ticket
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months experience using ACT Safe Power Ascenders, vacuum lifters and mini floor cranes
  • Certificate III in Glass and Glazing preferred

Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
