Hanwha Defence Australia (HDA) are delivering capability to the Australian Defence Force by uniting the best Australian and South Korean technology and practices.
HDA has opened a new $170 million manufacturing facility known as the Hanwha Armoured Vehicle Centre of Excellence (H-ACE), next to Avalon Airport in Geelong, which brings high technology vehicle manufacturing back to the region.
Your new role:
We are seeking Qualified Production Spray Painters who will be responsible for the daily activities of the production paint area. The role is responsible for ensuring HDA vehicles are painted to quality and work process standards whilst also ensuring that volume, cost, waste and quality standards are achieved. The role will also assist in the identification of process problems, troubleshooting causes whilst developing solutions.
As an ideal candidate you will have:
- Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology
- Experience in an Automotive paint environment or relevant paint environment.
- Experience in preparing surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, and cleaning.
- Experience with industrial paint application, such as mixing materials for proper application, colour-matching, and providing quality finished surface.
- Experience in coatings application and testing to adhere with project specifications.
- Relevant experience in a similar manufacturing/operational/defence environment
- Demonstratable experience with hand tools.
- Experience adhering to safe work practices and promoting a safety culture.
- Ability to perform physically demanding and manual labour safely.
- Experience with modern quality assurance systems.
- Ability to use computers and Microsoft Office Software.
- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in a diverse team environment.
- A demonstratable commitment to customer service and satisfaction.
- Demonstrates effective and respectful communication skills.
- Strong problem solving abilities and time management skills
