About the Role

We are seeking a professional, reliable, and well-presented Day Cleaner to join our on-site facilities team at a highly prestigious independent school. This position plays an integral role in maintaining the school's immaculate presentation and hygiene standards throughout the day, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

You will work as part of an established cleaning team but will take ownership of the daytime cleaning and maintenance duties for a key area of the school, supporting the school's daily operations and responding promptly to cleaning needs as they arise.

Working hours for this position are 7am-3pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of high-traffic areas including entrances, corridors, staff rooms, offices, classrooms, restrooms, and common areas throughout the school day.
  • Conduct touchpoint cleaning and sanitisation of frequently used surfaces (door handles, railings, switches, etc.).
  • Attend to any immediate cleaning needs such as spills, accidents, or weather-related cleaning requirements.
  • Replenish consumables (toilet tissue, paper towels, soap, sanitiser) as required.
  • Empty bins and ensure waste areas are kept tidy and hygienic.
  • Support the school's sustainability and recycling initiatives.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and storage areas in a safe and organised manner.
  • Provide a friendly and professional presence on campus, maintaining discretion and respect in an active learning environment.
  • Report any maintenance issues, safety concerns, or supply shortages to the Site Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Previous cleaning experience in a school cleaning (essential).
  • Working With Children Check (Blue Card or equivalent).
  • National Police Clearance (current).
  • Knowledge of safe chemical handling and WHS procedures.
  • Candidates with all types of work visas are welcome to apply.
