It takes a special person to be a Home Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their home and enhance their wellbeing. We are looking for just that person with 3 months or more experience in a similar role to join the Silverchain team in the Ulverstone 7315 area.

What we're looking for

We are looking for people who:

  • Enjoy having variety in their day.
  • Can build positive relationships with clients and their families.

  • Care about assisting our aged community members to live independently at home for longer.

  • Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

  • A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle.
  • 3 months or more in a similar role.

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker, you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

  • General housekeeping and making beds.
  • Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
  • Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
  • Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

  • Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day.
  • Assisting with mobility and therapy goals.

  • Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.

  • Providing social and emotional support.
  • Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
  • Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
