Due to our continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with strong background in Power Systems projects to join our committed team at Actemium Industrial Services Australia. In this pivotal role, will see you tasked with leading and coordinating the delivery of the electrical engineering scopes on complex Power Systems projects for the business.

What you'll do:

Working within the Industrial Services Business Unit, the successful candidate will be required to provide technical direction on works and process delivery of the power system elements of our projects, in collaboration with the project managers and other stakeholders. This role requires the applicant to:

• Perform low and high voltage (up to 33kV) Power Systems design, construction and commissioning support.
• Conduct Power Systems analysis including fault current, load flow, protection grading studies, fault loop impedance, harmonic, and arc flash analysis.
• Lead the engineering team to deliver complex technical tasks across a range of generation and power systems related projects.
• Conduct investigation into and report fault finding, equipment limitations and compliance.
• Assist with electrical design and provide input to technical team to create electrical power system schematics.
• Navigate client standards and Australian Electrical Standards.
• Produce engineering design deliverables (e.g. designs, assessments, drawings, and reports).
• Review design outputs including schematics, single line diagrams, general arrangements, equipment lists and marking up as required to ensure compliance with the project requirements.
• Liaise with internal and external clients, other discipline professionals and stakeholders within the industry to ensure the timely, accurate and cost-effective delivery of projects.
• Write earthing reports, including calculating step and touch potential limits based on IEEE 80 methodology, conducting ENA-EG0/ EG1 risk calculations based on Energex assumptions, earth conductor sizing, earth grid layout based on ground mat modelling and calculated step & touch potentials
• Write power system reports, including modelling of power system in PTW32, load flow, short circuit, cable sizing and arc flash calculations, determining protection settings of circuit breakers and relays.

• Experience in carrying out on-site commissioning
• Experience of leading and mentoring team members on projects.

• Highly motivated, organised, and flexible.
• Good understanding of technical project life cycle.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years postgraduate experience in electrical HV Power Systems Design or Renewables space.
• High proficiency with power system modelling software such SKM Powertools PTW32 and ground mat
• Experience with programming and commissioning HV and LV switchgear is highly regarded
• Understanding of Energex standards, including major customer connections and embedded generation requirements highly regarded
• RPEQ (in the process of obtaining).
• Construction Industry White Card or eligible to get one.
• Class C Drivers Licence (QLD).
