Early Childhood Teacher for Community Kindergarten

Beerwah Kindergarten is a community based, not for profit association providing a nurturing and educational experience for children in the year/s before they attend Prep. We pride ourselves on our excellent reputation for providing high quality early childhood education and care.

An exciting and rare opportunity has become available for a passionate Early Childhood professional to join our team as a Teacher, on a permament part time basis, supporting 25 children, supported by 2-3 dedicated Educators.

Our two programs operate for 15 hours a week, from 8:45am to 2:45pm, five days a fortnight during each school term.

The successful applicant would be working a 5-day fortnight - Thursday, Friday & alternate Wednesdays, 7:45am - 3:15pm. The position will commence mid January 2026 (date to be confirmed).

Key Selection Criteria

  • Minimum three or four year qualification in Early Childhood Education, qualifications need to meet Approved Kindergarten Program Provider Teacher Recognition requirements.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication / presentation skills.
  • Ability to self manage and meet timelines.
  • Demonstration of initiative and innovation.
  • Commitment to quality outputs and competent in information technology.
  • Knowledge of the Queensland Kindergarten Guideline, Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards is essential.
  • General knowledge and/or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of relevant legislations.
  • Approved ACECQA degree
  • Experience with Storypark and online documentation (preferred but not essential)

Essential Qualifications

  • First Aid certificate, including resuscitation certificate including certificate and training in the emergency management of anaphylaxis and asthma.
  • Strong knowledge and ability to implement QKLG, EYLF and NQF
  • Child Protection Training
  • Current Suitability Card
  • Registration with the Queensland College of Teacher's preferred.
  • Minimum three or four year qualification in Early Childhood Education.
  • Approved Kindergarten Program Teacher requirements.
  • Supervisor Certificate preferred. The Teacher may be required to act as Certified Supervisor in day to day charge of the service and be the responsible person for the service in the absence of the Nominated Supervisor (This is negotiated with Management Committee).
