Maintenance Fitter Location: Crestmead, QLDPay: $45 – $50/hour + OT + Super | Full-time | OngoingShift: Monday to Friday | 6:00am – 2:00pm APEC, a leader in local manufacturing, is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to join the team.
This role is perfect for someone with strong mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic experience who enjoys leading maintenance activities while still being on the tools when needed.
Your Role:– Supervise safe work practices and enforce company/Worksafe QLD regulations– Lead incident reporting and provide first aid when required– Fault finding and diagnostics on mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems– Fit bearings, gears, drive trains, and spare parts on production machinery– Perform modifications, general machining, and welding tasks– Plan and schedule preventative and corrective maintenance activities– Manage spares procurement, contractor liaison, and job allocations– Enter and update records in AMPRO maintenance software– Act as Fire Warden and ensure safety responsibilities are upheld– Support fitters and assist with hands-on breakdown repairs when required– Be available for occasional after-hours emergency breakdowns You'll Need:– Mechanical trade qualification (Fitter/Boilermaker) or equivalent– Strong background in plant maintenance and breakdown repairs– Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical drive systems– Welding and machining experience– Computer literacy (AMPRO software highly regarded)– Safety-first mindset and ability to lead by example Why Join APEC?
