About the Role

The Central Allocations Unit has opportunities for Enrolled Nurses to join our team. The Mental Health casual bank offers the opportunity to work across:

  • Adult Acute Unit
  • Parent and Infant Unit
  • PARC
  • SECU (Sovereign House)
  • Steel Haughton Unit

To maintain your position with the Central Allocations Unit, a commitment of 2 shifts per fortnight is required.

Casual bank is managed by the Central Allocations Unit which operates 7 days a week. Grampians Health uses an electronic rostering system that matches staff for shifts based on their availabilities via text/phone call.

Key Responsibilities

  • Caring for a diverse range of patients and residents in varied care settings
  • Ability and willingness to provide high-quality, direct care within the scope of practice
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive, patient-focused outcomes
  • Complete mental state exams and risk assessments for consumers
  • Complete medication administration in adherence to overarching governance
  • Undertake tasks under the direction of NUM / ANUM / RPN on shift
  • Documentation and updating of care plans/patient records
  • Provide accurate and timely communication with residents, visitors, and staff at all levels within Grampians Health
  • Maintaining accurate availability in our electronic rostering system and accepting shifts based on availability

Skills and experience

  • Prior experience/placement in a Mental Health setting
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills
  • Ability to function within a team
  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain if working in a Care Community
  • Current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain
