PhD Opportunity – Trust in AI for Decision Support Systems

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to explore
trust in AI systems within the healthcare and clinical domains
. The project investigates how users perceive, calibrate, and maintain trust in AI models that integrate multiple data sources, including explainable and generative AI.

Key research areas include:

  • Digital trust and human–AI interaction
  • Transparency and explainability in AI systems
  • Trust in generative AI and data provenance
  • Trust measurement and calibration across structured and unstructured data
  • Risk assessment in health and implementation science

Ideal background:

Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Human–Computer Interaction, or Medical Data Analytics.

Experience in machine learning, user trust examination, health/clinical data analytics or AI ethics is desirable.

Key requirement:

You need to

  • Be a local student with Australia/New Zealand PR visa, or a citizen of either country.
  • Have completed a Master's degree, or a Bachelor's degree with Honours. In rare situations work experience in a relevant field could be considered as well.
