About the role

Based in our Head Office in Essendon Fields with hybrid working opportunities available, an excellent career opportunity exists for a Test Engineer who has a strong desire to contribute and participate in the exciting opportunities arising within a dynamic, technology business with growth and expansion plans.

Working collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders, this position is responsible for leading the thinking and being the champion of a test framework that supports all current and future software projects and products from both an automated and manual testing perspective. You will be working across both software and hardware testing, to include the hands-on testing of physical kiosks and bag drop units, as well as verifying user interfaces, APIs and backend services for web and airport-based applications.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and/or follow software testing strategies
  • Prepare/review test plans and test cases
  • Perform testing across all test cycles including Feature, Integration, Verification, Regression and Validation
  • Contribute to process improvements regarding testing to ensure clarity, efficiency and consistency by providing test results and technical input via JIRA tickets
  • Document test results, raise bugs and contribute to product quality improvements
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to identify scope of testing
  • Work closely with the development team in identifying test automation paths
  • Work with the product team to analyse and clarify business requirements

Skills and experience

Experience

  • Must be an Australian Citizen or have Permanent Residency.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, equivalent experience and demonstrated technical ability are equally valued
  • 2 - 3 years of Test Analyst experience or equivalent
  • Automated test framework and implementation experience with relevant test tools e.g. Selenium, QTP etc…
  • Experience in load and performance testing.
  • Experience in agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, etc.

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to maintain excellent relationships with a range of key stakeholders, to include key decision makers.
  • Good organisational skills with an ability to plan and prioritise competing work requirements and work towards tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Adaptable and able to work autonomously and in dynamic, fast paced team environment.
  • Proactive and reactive problem solving skills with an ability to "think outside the box"

Bonus Points for the Following:

  • NET environment or similar development experience
  • Experience in security testing
  • Experience in Gaming, Technology, Automation, Aviation, Consumer Electronics or other relevant industries highly beneficial
