Job Description

We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Test Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. This is a great opportunity for individuals with a foundation in cybersecurity, systems engineering, or computer science who are eager to gain hands-on experience testing and evaluating secure systems in support of national security or enterprise IT missions.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the design, development, and execution of test plans and procedures to assess cybersecurity posture and system functionality.

Collaborate with senior engineers to conduct vulnerability assessments, security testing, and system evaluations.

Execute tests in Linux/Unix-based environments, troubleshoot issues, and document results.

Support the automation of test processes using scripting languages such as Python or Bash.

Utilize CI/CD pipelines and Docker containers to streamline deployment and testing workflows.

Work with source control systems like Git for version control and collaboration.

Analyze test data, identify anomalies, and assist with root cause analysis.

Participate in Agile development environments and contribute to improving overall test coverage and effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Active Security Clearance required.

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and system-level testing.

Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments using Docker.

Basic proficiency in C/C++ programming languages.

Hands-on experience with Git and collaborative software development tools.

Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, vulnerabilities, and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, STIGs).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience designing, writing, reviewing, and executing test plans.

Familiarity with tools like Wireshark, Nessus, Nmap, Burp Suite, or similar.

Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or related.

Exposure to DevSecOps or Agile development environments.
