The Association
IGSA Sport is a sub-committee of IGSA and is the leading independent girls' schools sporting association in Australia. IGSA Sport is responsible for the provision of sporting activities for the students of 32 independent girls' schools. The IGSA Sport philosophy is focused on helping girls appreciate the value of physical activity, fair play, teamwork and good sportsmanship while building self-confidence, skill, self-discipline and responsibility.
The Role
IGSA is seeking a talented, dynamic and organised Director of Junior Sport to lead and manage the IGSA Sport program for Members' Junior schools. This newly established role will work closely with the current Directors of Sport and will focus on the establishment and ongoing coordination of the IGSA Sport program for Junior School students.
Commencing in January 2026, the successful candidate will cover a parental leave position for Term 1 before moving into the Junior Sport role from Term 2 onwards.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be supportive of the Association's philosophy, values, aims, initiatives, policies and practices.
- Possess appropriate tertiary qualifications e.g. sport management or teaching and/or event management.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the organisation of Junior Sport in schools and the current environment for girls' Junior School sport.
- Display thorough understanding and expertise in sports program administration and organisation.
- Possess strong experience in event management and coordination.
- Demonstrate outstanding communication skills and leadership ability.
- Have sound knowledge of current NSW Child Protection legislation, risk management practices and compliance requirements.
- Experience providing services in a girls' school environment is highly desirable.
Remuneration is competitive with industry standards and based on qualifications and experience. Flexible/hybrid working arrangements are available for the successful applicant.
The successful applicants must have a valid Working with Children Check clearance number and driver's licence.
