Animal Ethics Manager

• Full-time continuing position
• Lead the University's animal ethics operations and shape strategic research compliance
• Base Salary $156, % superannuation

About the opportunity

As the Animal Ethics Manager , you will lead the University's animal ethics operations and ensure alignment with national and state regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in supporting research excellence and compliance across the University, working within the Research Integrity and Ethics Administration team.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• work closely with the Director, Research Integrity and Ethics Administration, researchers, and external regulatory bodies
• lead and manage the daily operations of the Ethics Office and Animal Ethics Committees
• provide strategic advice on animal ethics policy and infrastructure development
• develop and implement new policies, processes, procedures and openness for animal ethics
• liaise with government bodies and prepare reports on animal use and compliance
• contribute to training initiatives and joint projects with internal and external stakeholders

About you

• bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of training and experience
• demonstrated experience managing ethics committees and administrative support in a large institution
• proven expertise in animal research compliance and understanding of regulatory environments
• experience in policy development, strategic advice, and change management
• strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
• demonstrated leadership within complex regulatory environments involving animal research.
