About the role

m-View are experiencing rapid growth and are committed to delivering enhanced value to our customers. We are seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer where you will play a vital role in managing and optimising our SaaS services within AWS.

Your expertise will help us identify opportunities to enhance our cloud capabilities and processes, contributing to the growth of our operations. With a strong foundation in both Windows and Linux administration, and experience in software solution delivery, you will produce design documentation and recommendations, provision infrastructure, deploy and manage our software. This role also provides the opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities as our team expands.

The role is based in our Melbourne CBD office and follows m-View's hybrid working policy 3 days in the office and 2 days wfh. Reporting directly to the COO, you will join a small but rapidly scaling team where you will have the opportunity to contribute to decision-making from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • SaaS Management: Oversee the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of our SaaS applications hosted on AWS, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Cloud Optimization: Identify opportunities to enhance cloud capabilities, streamline processes, and improve operational efficiency within our AWS environments.
  • Customer Engagement: Support with sales team to provide technical SME support and aid in development of solution design documentation.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve cloud-related issues, providing support to ensure minimal disruption to services.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for cloud configurations, processes, and procedures, ensuring knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Performance Monitoring: Maintaining monitoring and alerting systems along with responding to alerts/ anomalies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development and operations teams to support application deployments and ensure seamless integration of cloud services.
  • Security Compliance: Assist in maintaining security protocols and compliance with industry standards, contributing to our ISO 27001 and AWS certification efforts.
  • Team Development: Support the development of junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices as the team grows.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications, particularly with AWS, will be highly regarded
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud operations, specifically managing SaaS services in AWS, with a background in software solution delivery.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of AWS services and architecture, with practical experience in both Windows and Linux environments. Experience with automation and CI/CD is of interest, as is SQL server experience
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Documentation Skills: Ability to create clear and concise technical documentation.
  • Collaboration: Strong communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership Potential: Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and mentor team members, with an interest in growing into a leadership role.
