About the role
The City of Parramatta is seeking a Safety Assurance Specialist to lead and manage WHS compliance across Major Capital Projects. This role is critical in ensuring safe, compliant, and high-performing project environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead WHS inspections, audits, incident investigations, and implement lessons learnt across multiple construction sites
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Council systems, and contractor safety management frameworks
- Collaborate with contractors, project managers, and senior stakeholders to resolve high-risk issues
- Monitor environmental impacts and coordinate third-party safety audits
- Maintain WHS software systems and ensure accurate data reporting
About you
You are a safety-focused leader with 10 years + experience in a similar role or as WHS manager on construction projects. You bring strong influencing and negotiation skills across all levels.
You will also bring:
- Proven experience in incident investigations and WHS audits
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation, regulations, and standards
- Experience across bulk earthworks, utilities, building services, and temporary structures
- Excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under pressure
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a WHS-related field
- White Card
- Class C Driver Licence
- Completed training in WHS Auditing and Incident & Investigation Management
What's on offer
We are offering a permanent full time position, with an attractive remuneration from $138,124 to $152,133 plus 12% superannuation.
