About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Innovation and Improvement, the Knowledge Management Leader is accountable for developing and overseeing the KM strategy and leading the implementation and continuous improvement of Knowledge Management (KM) practices within ASC in support of ASC's pathway to nuclear readiness.

You will work collaboratively across the Transfer of Technology (ToT) and Innovation functions within the Nuclear Capability and Development business unit to drive the development and delivery of sustainable and ever-improving KM elements across the full KM lifecycle (capture, organise, store, retrieve, share, utilise, learn, divest).

Candidates with KM experience gained in the defence and/or nuclear sector will be viewed favourably.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of ASC's Knowledge Management strategy, framework, and governance structures, in close collaboration with the Head of Innovation and Improvement and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ensure KM practices and processes are aligned with organisational goals, regulatory requirements, policies, and standards, providing consistency, compliance and sustainability.
  • Design and implement processes for capturing, codifying and sharing tacit and explicit knowledge across the organisation.
  • Promote the acquisition of external knowledge through structured mechanisms (via recruitment, consultants, ToT, etc.).
  • Leverage ASC's digital tool suite to support effective KM practices.
  • Collaborate with Digital Tools Governance and IT to identify and realise future KM digital tool opportunities and proactively explore emerging technologies such as AI to enhance KM outcomes.
  • Drive KM culture by embedding KM practices into daily operations, continuous improvement initiatives and leadership behaviours.
  • Conduct KM maturity assessments and develop performance metrics to monitor progress and inform continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the design and structure of the future-state KM team.

About You:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Information Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems) or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing KM frameworks in complex, regulated or high-risk environments.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Knowledge Management, Organisational Development or similar are advantageous.
  • High proficiency with KM platforms and tools (e.g. SharePoint, Confluence) and strategic understanding of how digital tools and emerging technologies (including AI) can enhance KM practices.
  • Proven ability to lead change, influence across business units, and embed KM in organisational culture.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and mutual understanding and to drive collaboration.
  • Experience with taxonomy development, metadata standards and content lifecycle management.
