MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST - PPT/Casual

North East Family Medicine is a rapidly growing and progressive General Practice in Wangaratta that provides high quality medical care. We are an experienced, dynamic group of 8 General Practitioners, 4 practice nurses, one Pharmacist and an administration team of six and looking for the right person to join us.

A role within our reception team will lead to the development of advanced customer service and problem-solving skills, exposure to IT processes in an (almost) paperless environment and medical administration knowledge which can lead to a satisfying career in medical administration or, be the stepping stone to other administration roles in the future.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 12 months general office administration experience
  • Previous medical reception or healthcare administration experience is preferred but not required
  • A positive and friendly telephone manner
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage with patients, health practitioners, internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong IT skills and computer literacy with a thorough knowledge of MS Office; incl Word and Excel and comfortable with the electronic demands of a paperless office
  • Ability to build positive relationships and maintain patient and practice/workplace confidentiality
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing work tasks and deliver to agreed deadlines
  • Dependable and punctual with a mature attitude and strong work ethic
  • Excellent presentation
  • Australian work rights are required for this position
