About the opportunity:
As an Area Manager, you'll play a key role in the Sydney construction team. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you'll lead and support a team of Construction Supervisors, ensuring projects in your area run smoothly, safely, and to a high standard. You'll help maintain consistency across builds, deliver quality outcomes, and live MJH NSW's values every day.
- Lead, coach and support Construction Supervisors to achieve their goals and KPIs
- Monitor site progress, quality and compliance with building contracts and codes
- Resolve site issues such as delays, accidents, or disputes promptly and effectively
- Hold regular one-on-one check-ins with your team to provide feedback and set clear goals
- Ensure client portals and companion records are updated daily
- Maintain clean, safe and well-managed sites
- Drive efficiency by monitoring suppliers and contractors, approving completed work, and minimising waste
- Manage costs by reducing overruns and applying back charges where necessary
About you:
You're passionate about residential construction and motivated to deliver great outcomes for customers and your team. In addition, you will demonstrate:
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role
- Foresight and a strategic focus, with effective decision making
- Residential construction experience in project delivery, customer support and operations
- Understanding of building regulations and codes
- Experience in estimating/drafting would also be highly regarded
- Ability to drive a team to deliver high quality projects
