YouthReach South are seeking motivated and suitably experienced Clinical Nurse Specialists to join their team in providing support to young people struggling with mental ill-health.
This is for a Part-Time/Full-Time, Fixed-Term/Permanent appointment with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.
This role requires accountability which includes provision of expert clinical assessment, risk assessment and management, as well as facilitating access to specialist mental health services as appropriate for young people with complex mental health issues and associated behavioural manifestations. You will also be required to deliver expert consultative advice, education and support to the multidisciplinary team and care providers in the areas of speciality and function as member of a multidisciplinary team.
YouthReach South
is based in Success and provides a specialist youth mental health service to young people with significant mental health problems or at risk of developing significant mental health problems. The service targets marginalised young people aged 13 to 24 years, who are homeless or experiencing other significant barriers in accessing mainstream mental health services. Such barriers typically include transience, limited support networks, cultural barriers including Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander identity, marginalisation due to diverse sexuality and gender, and previous negative treatment experiences.
YouthReach South provides a welcoming, trauma-informed, flexible approach with assertive care coordination and community outreach to support the engagement and retention of young people in the assessment and treatment of their mental health problems.
