About the Role
As the Open Space Projects Officer, you will:
- Ensure Open Space and Recreation projects are completed on time and to budget.
- Deliver projects outlined in Council's Public Spaces and Recreation Strategy and any supporting open space plans or strategies.
- Provide direction and supervision of contractors working on Open Space Recreation projects.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth delivery of open space projects, engaging internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Lead site assessments and community consultation to develop plans for open space and recreation projects.
- Ensure community consultation is carried out for each project, with feedback meaningfully addressed and integrated into project outcomes.
What You'll Bring
- Tertiary qualifications in landscape architecture, sport and recreation planning, landscape management or related fields (i.e.: Civil project experience) and/or significant relevant experience.
- Previous experience in the development of reports, policies, and strategic plans that guide the future of public spaces in our community.
- Ability to prepare and/ or supervise the preparation of detail design and construction plans related to Council Park and recreation assets.
- Demonstrated experience in co-ordinating and/or managing public open space projects and contractors.
- Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence.
- Proficient computer skills including experience with CAD, Microsoft Office and ADOBE Suite.
- Proven experience in community consultation and working with community groups.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience in the preparation of Master Plans and place-based plans or equivalent documents.
- Knowledge or Experience in Local or State Government.
