The Jerk is looking for 2 Casual Supervisors

We are looking for supervisors to join our team at our Richmond and South Yarra Stores

The Jerk specialises in authentic Jerk Chicken, bringing fresh and wholesome Jamaican flavours to our community. As a Supervisor, your role will see you leading, coaching and motivating the team to enhance the guest experience, ensuring every guest receives the best service. Your leadership will set the tone for operational standards and foster a positive work environment for the crew.

You will be working with the management team to keep the shop running smoothly.

Our Richmond store has 'Bar Montego' within the restaurant and has just been approved for 3am late night trading. We are developing a late night entertainment program to cater for the weekends.

Late night availability is essential for this role.

Richmond Trading hours:

Mon-Thurs: 11:30am - 9pm

Fri-Sat: 11:30am-3am

Our South Yarra store has a bigger focus on food, RSA is required as we serve prepackaged alcohol and wine.

South Yarra Trading Hours:

Mon-Thurs: 11:30am - 9pm

Fri-Sat: 11:30am - Midnight

Responsibilities

  • Supervising shift operations of store
  • Bar Stock ordering
  • End of Week administrative consolidation
  • Leading the team during service and setting the standard for the team
  • Engaging with customers and bringing a genuinely hospitable vibe
  • Showing sharp attention to detail and jumping in before anyone asks
  • Working with senior management to grow the bar program
  • Keeping the bar clean, organised and efficient
  • Supporting and training staff to deliver great service
  • Opportunity for further growth within the company

Skills and Experience

  • Confident leadership and communication skills
  • Warm, engaging personality, you make people feel welcome
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach
  • Team Leader experience: 1-year minimum
  • Bartending experience: 2-year minimum (Cocktail Experience highly regarded for Richmond location)
  • Current Vic RSA

This is a casual position, with potential full time hours. Shifts will be a mix of days and evenings, weekend availability is essential.

Full Availability is highly preferred. This role would not be suited to students.
