About the role

The Product Owner will play a key role within the
Claims System Modernisation Initiative (CSMI)
project team to deliver a key action in WorkSafe's strategy, the replacement of claims management and premium legacy technology systems with a new customer relationship management system (CRM) for the scheme.

The Product Owner is responsible for maximising the value of the capabilities delivered by the
Claims System Modernisation
program delivery teams including the Strategic Implementation partner and Technology Vendors.

The role acts as a as a key subject matter expert for the
Claims System Modernisation
program working with the delivery team to ensure that capability and technology is fit-for purpose for the business and ensures all solutions have a customer mindset and that we deliver on our objective of being client centric and prevention lead.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the business objectives associated with the Claims System Modernisation Strategy
  • Collaborating with stakeholders involved within the Claims System Modernisation Program and the key streams associated with this work.
  • Engage with key business stakeholders and produce relevant documentation ensuring the project and delivery teams have required information/insights to complete sprints.
  • On behalf of WSV work with Delivery Team in translating the business objectives into business requirements / acceptance criteria
  • Take ownership for the agreed priorities, ensuring that solutions developed and delivered meet clients and business needs.
  • Work within the relevant governance framework and project timeline and engage with relevant stakeholders and committees.
  • Ensure there is a strategic focus that work is aligned with the customer journeys we expect our clients to have in a modernised Claims System, whilst ensuring consideration is given to our legislative requirements.

About you

You will have a strong ability to work independently along with a proactive approach to engagement with your key stakeholders. In addition you will have strong resilience combined with excellent listening and communication skills.

Your experience will include leading change along with exceptional planning and organisational skills.

Additionally, you will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Strong understanding of the nature of Workers Compensation and WorkSafe business / department
  • Understand and effective in navigating the business operational governance, people structure to obtain decisions/approval, and participation in the delivery of the program
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to engage and influence key stakeholders with conflicting priorities
  • Understanding of Agile Project methodology
