We're an Occupational Therapy led, values-driven practice supporting NDIS participants across Melbourne. We're seeking an experienced Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to deliver therapy support under OT direction (no assessments or report writing).

Please only apply if *you have experience with children/teenagers with ASD and ADHD. Some experience with people with mental health and schizophrenia would be accepted as well*

What you'll do (therapy support only)

  • Implement 1:1 therapy programmes written by the supervising OT (ADLs, domestic skills, routines, community access, social participation, sensory regulation, executive functioning).
  • Set up activities, model strategies, support skill practice, and complete brief session notes/data.
  • Communicate promptly with the supervising OT and follow clear professional boundaries.

Out of scope: assessments, report writing, behaviour plans, independent clinical decision-making, or goal setting without OT direction.

You bring

  • Studying OT/Allied Health or prior AHA experience (NDIS experience valued).
  • Warmth, professionalism, strong boundaries, and clear communication.
  • Driver's license and reliable car for home/community sessions.

Essentials — Clearances, training & documents

Please include (or be willing to obtain) the following:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (current).
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC) — Employee or Volunteer, as applicable.
  • National Police Check (within last 12 months).
  • First Aid & CPR (HLTAID011/HLTAID009 or equivalent).
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate ("Quality, Safety and You").
  • Manual Handling & Infection Control training (or willingness to complete).
  • Professional Indemnity insurance (e.g., £5–10m/AUD equivalent) and Public Liability insurance.
  • Driver's licence, roadworthy vehicle, and comprehensive car insurance if transporting clients.
  • Right to work in Australia (passport/visa).
  • ABN (if engaged as a contractor); super/bank details if employed.
  • Vaccinations as required by sites (e.g., Flu/COVID-19), where applicable.

Hours, pay & location

  • Subcontract; flexible 1–3+ days/week (primarily weekdays, but open to weekends).
  • In-person sessions across Melbourne; brief admin can be remote.
  • Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience; travel/notes by agreement.
