About the Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Events Co - Ordinator to join our team on a 12-month maternity leave contract. You will be the driving force behind the planning, coordination, and execution of all events at the Chamber. You'll work closely with our members, coordinate with our stakeholders and liaise with suppliers- to ensure every detail is perfect from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, administer and deliver an annual program of Chamber events in support of the strategic objectives of the chamber

  • Coordinate the details of all events including budgets, purchasing, programming, scheduling and logistics associated with various events, programs and activities

  • Create and administer events in online booking systems

  • Track and report on the profitability and viability of events, programs and functions to ensure best return on investment for members

  • Handle enquiries about events and act as a liaison between The Chamber and stakeholders

  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with all stakeholders including sporting and community groups, other council departments, private and public organisations, and other customers

  • Such other relevant duties as required from time to time which would generally fall within the scope of this position

About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Experience working in an association, membership based or not for profit sector

· Proven experience as an Event Manager or in a similar role in the events or hospitality industry

· Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

· Exceptional communication skills and a customer-centric attitude

  • Experience with Canva for designing event marketing materials and promotions

  • Solid understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and how to use them to engage with current and potential clients

  • A passion for creating memorable events and delivering outstanding service

  • Demonstrated understanding of the challenges faced by business

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as actively contribute within a small team environment.

  • Ability to build and maintain stakeholder and team relationships

  • Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
