The City of Fremantle is seeking a qualified Mechanical Tradesperson to join our highly experienced Mechanical Services Team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a team that plays a vital role in maintaining and modernising the City's fleet, plant, and equipment.

As part of the City's broader asset management transformation, we are investing in new technologies, sustainable practices, and operational efficiencies to enhance service delivery and capability. The successful candidate will be part of a forward-thinking team committed to safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Based at our Knutsford Street Operations Centre, this dynamic role offers exposure to a wide range of tasks involving the City's plant, fleet, and equipment. As a key member of the Infrastructure Directorate, you'll play a vital part in ensuring our operational teams can deliver high-quality services to the Fremantle community.

Key responsibilities include:

• Service and Maintenance: Perform scheduled servicing, fault diagnosis, and repairs on the City's plant, fleet and equipment
• Welding and Fabrication: Carry out welding and fabrication tasks to support the maintenance and modification of City assets
• Workshop Standards: Maintain a safe, clean and productive workshop environment, by reducing waste, improving efficiency, and contributing continuous improvement initiatives
• Documentation and Reporting: Accurately complete all required documentation, including, job cards, repair histories, services records and associated data

The desired applicant shall be able to demonstrate the following:

• Trade Qualification: Possession of an Automibile Trade Certificate (to Australian Standards) or recognised equivalent
• Licences: Minimum current LR (Light Rigid) class driver's licence
• Additional Certification: Valid forklift ticketor willing to obtain
• Technical Experience: Demonstrated experience in general repair and maintenance of a wide range of heavy and light vehicles
• Teamwork and Independence: Proven ability to work constructively as part of a small team, with the capacity to work collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision
