About the role:

-We are seeking a highly skilled Special Class Welder to join our team, working across a range of structural, mechanical, and piping projects. The role involves performing precision welding on high-pressure, high-temperature, and structural components in accordance with Australian Standards and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out welding and fabrication to AS/NZS 1554, AS 1796, and other relevant codes.

• Read and interpret complex fabrication drawings, isometric sketches, and welding symbols.

• Perform multi-process welding on pressure vessels, pipelines, and structural components.

• Inspect and verify weld quality using visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) standards.

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality assurance procedures.

• Collaborate with boilermakers, fitters, and supervisors to meet project deadlines.

• Maintain tools, welding machines, and consumables in optimal condition.

Qualifications & Experience:

-Formal qualifications in welding, such as a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or equivalent

-Extensive experience as a pressure welder, with a proven track record of high-quality work

-Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a special class welder, or equivalent, demonstrated competency in high-quality welding work

-Strong working knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, and safety procedures

-Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures

-Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety

-Good communication and teamwork skills

-Willingness to undergo pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol testing

-Current White Card and Working at Heights certification

-Valid Confined Space certification

-Proof of eligibility to work in Australia
