This role involves structural design, project coordination, and technical leadership across a range of maritime projects, including ports, terminals, piers, and coastal facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design marine and waterfront structures using industry-standard software and codes.
- Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Conduct site inspections, condition assessments, and rehabilitation planning.
- Manage small projects including budgets, schedules, and client communications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers.
- Ensure compliance with Australian and international design standards.
Profile:
A skilled and motivated civil/structural engineer with a minimum of 5 years' experience in maritime infrastructure design. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with project management capabilities and thrives in collaborative, multidisciplinary environments.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Washington Accord accredited preferred).
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or working toward chartership.
- Proficient in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, Strand7, SpaceGass).
- Strong understanding of Australian and international design codes (AS, BS, Eurocode, ACI, AISC).
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
Experience
- Proven track record in designing marine structures such as wharves, piers, jetties, and terminals.
- Experience managing small to mid-sized projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination.
- Field experience in inspections, condition assessments, and rehabilitation planning.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
Preferred Attributes
- White Card and AGSVA security clearance (or eligibility).
- Familiarity with construction methods and site conditions in marine environments.
