About the role

The successful applicant must be available to commence by the end of July 2025.

As the Apprentice Plumber, you will complete a Certificate III in Plumbing over a 4 year period. You will play an important role within the Public Spaces Maintenance (PSM) team. You will assist Council's Plumber in undertaking various works involving planning, coordinating and maintaining Council's buildings across the city. The role requires a commitment to ongoing training, flexibility, and multi-skilling within the PSA area to develop and maintain the required professional industry skills and competencies.

Essential criteria

  • A willingness to undertake and complete a Certificate III in Plumbing
  • An interest in pursuing a trades industry career in plumbing
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Class C Driver Licence.
  • Willingness to obtain a Work Safely in the Construction Industry (WorkCover White Card)

Commencing salary:$43, $49,280.40 plus 12% superannuation and an Adverse Working Conditions Allowance in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award dependent upon your age.

You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, in order to progress through the recruitment process.
